I have been fishing here in Kuala Rompin, the Sailfish Capital of the World with my father and uncle since I was a child.

Kuala Rompin or Rompin town is a nice city in Pahang state of Malaysia.
It is located at the Rompin river estuary on the South-East coast of Peninsular Malaysia directly on the beautiful South China Sea.
This area of the South China Sea has been fished by us for decades,
here we know our way around well, this is our home.

Here in the sea is one of the world's largest collections of sailfish. Thousands of sailfish hunt huge shoals of bait fish in the mostly calm sea, and coastal fishing without long start-ups has made Kuala Rompin a prime hot spot for sailfish.
Malaysia Sailfish has 36 to 42 foot long, locally built fiberglass fishing boats powered by new low-emission 4-stroke Yamaha twin outboard 150/200 horsepower engines.
Malaysia Sailfish boats are fast and stable with lots of sun protection.
Fish finders, live bait tanks, GPS navigation systems, VHF radios, first aid kits /
toilet / life jackets are standard on all boats.
Skippers / deckhands / fishing guides are fully licensed to operate in Malaysian waters.

From November to March 15th, the northeast monsoon is not suitable for fishing due to strong winds and rough water conditions. We are closed.

About Kuala Rompin
it has developed from a small fishing village to a town.
Not least because of the many sport anglers from all over the world
who come here to experience the fishing adventure of sailfish.
Kuala Rompin is located near the equator belt, in the main season with a lot of sunshine
temperatures around 30 Celsius and calm sea it is ideal for offshore game fishing.
The city is quiet and manageable and the locals are friendly,
there is hardly any street crime, Rompin is a safe place. There is a supermarket, 7-11 shop, several fishing shops, banks with ATMs and even Pizza Hut,
Kentucky Fried Chicken and long sandy beaches.
Kuala Rompin is the ideal place for fishing in Malaysia.
About accommodation
Malaysia Sailfish prefers the Arpartsmens in the near of the jetty and the Rompin River.
They are normal standard double rooms clean with air con and private bathrooms.
The advantage is that the back and forth to the Hotel (around 20 minutes by car / each way)
is missing and you are right there.
The best restaurants are not far and you can meet crews and anglers from
all over the world. We love the atmosphere here.
If you want more luxury or are traveling with non-fishing companions, families, children, etc. who prefer a hotel with a pool and beach, we can also accommodate you in our
partner hotels (at an additional cost).
About restaurant / eating and drinking
Malaysia Sailfish will dine with you in Rompin's best seafood restaurant.
Here we also have the opportunity to let cook our bycatch in delicious ways.
And eat him fresh. You will love it.
If you are not a fan of excellent fresh seafood, there are other very good dishes too.
We and our partners are Chinese-Malay (Buddhists). In his restaurant it is allowed
to buy and drink beer, wine and whiskey.
Here we can celebrate our catch and end the day with friends.
If you want, we can also eat at Pizza Hut or other restaurants in town.
